MUSICIAN AND COMEDIAN, CLEDUS T. JUDD, SHARES HIS RECOVERY STORY WITH RECOVERY POINT WEST VIRGINIA

Huntington, WV - On Friday, November 19, 2021, American

musician and comedian, Cledus T. Judd, will share his personal

story of battling substance use disorder with Recovery Point

West Virginia Program Participants. It will take place at

Fairfield East Community Center (2711 8th Ave, Huntington,

WV 25703) beginning at 1:00 PM.

Cledus T. Judd is best known for his parodies of popular country

songs; he has been called the "Weird Al Yankovic" of country

music, and his albums are usually an equal mix of original

comedy songs and parodies. He's toured with Brooks and Dunn

to Rascal Flatts, to Toby Keith. He's had songs recorded by

Rascal Flatts, Montgomery Gentry and many others. He has

scored numerous accolades and music video hits and translated

his comedy successfully to radio and TV where he starred on

CMT's Most Wanted Live as a cohost for 2 years,

USA's Nashville Star where he co-hosted with Leann Rimes. He

also appeared in Toby Keith's movie, Beer For My Horses, and

also starred on VH1's hit reality show, Celebrity Fit Club where

he was a TV favorite.

What many aren't familiar with is the struggles he faced with

drug addiction, specifically using crystal meth and cocaine. He

has now been free from drugs for 17 years and recently released

song/video "Kid in Trouble," shedding light on the realities of

substance use disorder and mental illness. In less than one week,

the video for "Kid in Trouble" accumulated more than 1 million

views. 15,000 shares and 1.300 comments on Facebook. Video

views have since grown to more than 1.4 million.

Rather than play music for Recovery Point Program

Participants, Cledus plans to take the crowd on a journey that

will make them laugh and cry. While this is a private event, we

invite the media to attend to capture Cledus T. Judd's inspiring

story of hope.
